Below is the planned layout of the 13 days in Uganda, please be aware this can and will change based on water levels and group experience.

 

4th Feb  - Day 1 - Leave UK

Leave the UK at 07:00am and arrive in Entebbe airport, Uganda at 23:30pm.

 

5th Feb - Day 2 - Arrival day & Silverback to Kibibi

Once you've collected your luggage and gone through security we will be on day two of our trip. We will pick you up from the airport in our 4x4 safari van and take the 3-4 hour drive to our lake-side base at Nile River Explorers (NRE), sleeping in dormitories (upgrades to private rooms with ensuite bathroom available).

After a late breakfast at the campsite, there will be time for those who have rented boats to outfit them. Then we will load up the van and head to the river! We’ll paddle the Silverback to Kibibi section, where depending on water levels we might be able to surf the legendary Covid wave.

After returning to NRE Camp we’ll decide as a group whether to eat at one of the local restaurants around the village or head into town.

 

6th Feb - Day 3 - Superhole

After breakfast at the campsite, we’ll load the van and head out to Superhole. We'll have lunch here and either spend the afternoon at Superhole or paddle Silverback to Kibibi section again.

 

After returning to NRE Camp we’ll decide as a group whether to eat at one of the local restaurants around the village or head into town.

 

7th Feb - Day 4 – Full River Run of the White Nile

Today we do our first full river run from top to bottom, running (and portaging) all the rapids on the mighty White Nile. We’ll stop on the river at some point for a packed lunch. We’ll then paddle all the way down to the Isimba lake where our truck will meet us and take us back to Bujagali where we’re staying. Once again we’ll decide as a group where to eat dinner.

 

After returning to NRE camp we’ll decide as a group whether to eat at one of the restaurants around the village or head into town.

 

8th Feb - Day 5 – Superhole 

After breakfast at the campsite, we’ll load the van and head out to Superhole for some surfing and fun. We'll have lunch here and either spend the afternoon at Superhole or paddle Silverback to Kibibi section again.

 

After returning to NRE camp we’ll decide as a group whether to eat at one of the restaurants around the village or head into town.

9th Feb - Day 6 - Safari

After Breakfast at NRE you’ll be picked up by your safari guides in their custom 4x4 safari trucks. 07:00am departure from Jinja.  We'll stop at Kabalega diner for lunch then continue into the park. On our way through the park, we'll divert to take a look at the thundering top of Murchison Falls.

10th Feb - Day 7 - Safari

Early morning game drive in the Delta area of Murchison Falls.

In the late morning you'll hop on board the river cruise, heading up the Nile to the Foot of Murchison Falls. After the cruise we will head back to the lodge for lunch, you'll then have the afternoon to chill out and cool off by the pool in the late afternoon sunshine before the sun set.

11th Feb - Day 8 - Safari

One last chance to take in the majestic views from the lodge before we depart to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. Here you will do a rhino trek. After lunch we'll continue to Jinja, arriving in the evening.

After your safari you’ll be dropped back to Adrift for dinner and sleep.

 

12th Feb - Day 9 – Arrow to Hair of the Dog

After breakfast, we will paddle from our accommodation to Vengence wave where you will get the chance to spend most of the day surfing this epic wave!

13th Feb - Day 10 – Retrospect to Superhole

After your breakfast we will load the van and head out to Restrospect to paddle down to Superhole where we’ll run a different channel again and then enjoy some coaching on the Superhole wave. We’ll then paddle down to our accommodation at Adrift.

14th Feb - Day 11 – Silverback to Kalagala Falls

After breakfast, we’ll load the van and head out for a paddle from Silverback which gives a chance to stop at Covid wave, paddle through Retrospect, Bubugo before we finally arrive at Superhole for one last surf and freestyle kayaking session. We’ll stop on the river at some point for a packed lunch. After this we will paddle back to Adrift.

15th Feb - Departure Day - Day 12 - Arrow to Hair of the Dog

After breakfast those wanting one last paddle on the Nile we will do a run down from Arrow to Hair of the Dog and a chance to surf Vengance wave one last time. After a late lunch and final packing we will drive back to Entebbe for your flight back home which will leave at 00:20.

 

16th Feb - Day 13

Your flight departs Entebbe airport at 00:20 and will arrive back in London Heathrow at 17:05 the same day.

Travelling to Uganda:

For our adventure you will need to arrive at Entebbe, Uganda on the 4th February 2025. The best airline to fly to Uganda with is Brussels Airlines as they allow you to fly with your kayak provided you book it in, we will help you with this process.

Depart London Heathrow 4th February 2025  at 07:00am - Arrive in Entebbe on 4th February 2025 at 23:30pm - We will collect you from Entebbe Airport.

 

For returning to the UK, we recommend booking a flight for the 00:20am 16th February 2025. Below is a summary of the route:
